Buffalo Sabres GM Kevyn Adams remains engaged in trade conversations with teams about pending restricted free agent defenceman Bowen Byram.

The Sabres continue to explore the trade market for immediate help, as the club looks to compete for a playoff spot next season.

Byram is still a hot topic for Buffalo and multiple teams appear to be in the mix for his services. While a trade by/around this week’s NHL Draft is not a guarantee, there is a strong sense across the NHL that a move is likely.

The New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers and Calgary Flames are among the clubs believed to be interested in Byram, who currently ranks No.2 on TFP’s Summer Trade Watch List.

Adams has been burning the lines trying to get a deal done and it appears traction has been made. Whether it gets to the finish line this week remains to be seen.

Byram, who turns 24 on June 13, is in the final year of a two-year, $7.7 million contract and is eligible to become an RFA July 1.
