The Anaheim Ducks have traded center Trevor Zegras to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for forward Ryan Poehling, a second-round draft pick in this week’s draft (45th overall pick), and the Flyers 2026 fourth-round pick.
Zegras, 24, was drafted ninth-overall by the Ducks in 2019, and has gone on to play the last five seasons (2020-25) with the Ducks. He has recorded 67 goals and 119 assists for 186 points in 268 career-games.
Zegras was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2022 and had back-to-back 60+ point seasons in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
This past season, Zegras put up 12 goals and 32 points in 57 regular season games.
Poehling, 26, recorded 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points and 16 penalty minutes in 68 games with Philadelphia this past season, setting single-season career highs in points, goals, assists and PIM.
Drafted by the Canadiens (25th overall) in 2017, Poehling has accumulated 43 goals and 52 assists for 95 points in 283 career NHL games with Philadelphia (2023-25), Pittsburgh (2022-23) and Montreal (2019-22).
