THREE SWEDES GONE FISHIN’
HERE FISHY, FISHY…
There are a lot of outdoorsmen within the National Hockey League and several athletes love to hit the waters and go fishing when the opportunity presents itself.
With the pause in the NHL season still in affect — Phase 2 of the NHL’s return to play plan begins on Monday — a bunch of players taken advantage of their newfound free time in search of a big catch.
Three Swedes — Elias Lindholm of the Calgary Flames, Jacob Markstrom of the Vancouver Canucks and Joakim Nordstrom of the Boston Bruins — got together this week to fish back at home.
We’re not sure how big that bad boy is — we aren’t sure the type of fish, either… perhaps a whitefish? — but the guys are pretty happy about it.
While the fish is impressive, the funniest part of the post is Erik Karlsson’s reply, which takes a shot at Markstrom’s fishing attire.
“Two are dressed for fishing and the third looks like he jumped on the boat from the shore just to be part of the picture,” Karlsson wrote.
Lindholm and Nordstrom have a few recent posts about their fishing excursions on Instagram, while Markstrom’s got a few over the years.
With Phase 3 of the NHL’s return to play plan aimed at starting around July 14, we’ll keep tabs on their latest posts for any new fishing pics… maybe Markstrom will catch one next time.
