FLYERS TRADE ELLIS TO SHARKS FOR GRUNDSTROM, GURYEV

The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired forward Carl Grundstrom and defenceman Artem Guryev from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenceman Ryan Ellis and a 2026 conditional sixth-round pick.
As part of the condition, the Sharks will receive the earlier of two picks Philadelphia currently owns in the 2026 sixth round, its own and Columbus.
Grundstrom, 27, tallied three goals and nine points in 56 games last season for San Jose.
In 292 career NHL games in parts of seven seasons, Grundstrom has totaled 43 goals and 33 assists for 76 points. He was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round (57th overall) in 2016.
Guryev, 22, was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the fifth round (135th overall) in 2021 and signed his entry-level contract in April of 2023.
Ellis, 34, has not played due to injury since Nov. 2021. In 11 seasons with the Nashville Predators and Flyers, Ellis has accumulated 76 goals and 199 assists for 275 points in 566 games.
