The Colorado Avalanche have signed forward Martin Necas to an eight-year contract extension through the 2033-34 season worth $11.5 million per season.

Necas, 26, is in his first full season with the Avalanche in 2025-26 and has registered seven goals and six assists for 13 points in 11 games.

Acquired by the Avalanche in a trade with the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 24, 2025, Necas has recorded 41 points (18 goals, 23 assists) in 41 regular-season games for the Avs.

He has collected 131 goals and 208 assists for 339 points over 452 career regular-season NHL games with the Avalanche and Hurricanes.

Necas made his NHL debut on Oct. 17, 2017, his only game that season before returning to HC Kometa Brno in the Czech Extraliga. He was originally drafted 12th overall by the Hurricanes in 2017.
