EKHOLM INKS 3-YEAR, $12M EXTENSION WITH OILERS

The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Mattias Ekholm to a three-year, $12 million contract extension.
Ekholm, 35, dressed in 65 regular-season games for the Oilers last season registering nine goals and 24 assists for 33 points as well as 30 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +11.
Originally acquired by the Oilers from the Nashville Predators on Feb. 28, 2023, Ekholm has skated in 165 games registering 24 goals and 68 assists for 92 points.
A veteran of almost 900 NHL games, the Borlange, Sweden native has accumulated 86 goals and 274 assists for 360 career points with 428 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +187.
