DEVILS, HUGHES FINALIZE SEVEN-YEAR CONTRACT

The New Jersey Devils and restricted free agent defenceman Luke Hughes have put the finishing touches on a seven-year contract worth $63 million.

Hughes, 22, saw his three-year, entry-level contract expire and has been trying to secure a new deal.

Hughes has not attended New Jersey's training camp, as a result of not having a contract, but is expected to join the Devils are early as today.

In 71 games with the Devils last season, Hughes registered seven goals and 37 assists for 44 points.
