The Vancouver Canucks are believed to be looking for a middle-six forward to add to their roster due to winger Nils Hoglander missing the next eight-to-ten weeks because of an injury.

The Canucks have just over $1.33 million in available salary cap space, according to PuckPedia, but can create additional space by sending one or more waivers-exempt players down.

Canucks GM Patrik Allvin has been exploring options, according to separate league sources, but it is unclear if a move is imminent.

Any addition would likely bolster the club’s third-line, as Vancouver’s top-six seems to be set with Elias Pettersson centering Jake DeBrusk and Brock Boeser, and Filip Chytil anchoring the second line in between Evander Kane and Conor Garland.

The Canucks have reportedly been linked to Chicago Blackhawks winger Lukas Reichel, who has a $1.2 million cap hit, as have the Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks.
