Around the time the puck dropped on the 2025-26 NHL season, the Chicago Blackhawks engaged in trade discussions with other clubs about forward Lukas Reichel.

Three weeks later, Reichel is still a member of the Blackhawks, but he also remains available for trade.

Reichel, 23, is in the final year of a two-year, $2.4 million contract and is currently eligible to become a restricted free agent next summer.

Reichel is open to a change of scenery, as TFP’s David Pagnotta reported earlier this month on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, but the Blackhawks are looking for a draft pick in a return and have not yet been offered one they deem acceptable.

The native of Nürnberg, Germany, has played in four of Chicago’s seven games so far this season, collecting two goals and one assist.

Several teams are believed to have expressed varying levels of interest in Reichel, including the Vancouver Canucks, San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings, among others.
