TEXIER SIGNS 1-YEAR DEAL WITH CANADIENS

The Montreal Canadiens have signed free agent forward Alexandre Texier to a one-year, $1 million contract.

Texier became an unrestricted free agent after his contract with the St. Louis Blues was terminated on Sunday. He was in the final year of a two-year, $4.2 million contract.

The 26-year-old played in just eight games with the Blues this season, picking up one assist.

Texier has played in 240 career NHL games with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Blues, and has recorded 40 goals and 51 assists for 91 points, along with 94 penalty minutes.
