The Nashville Predators have been engaged in trade calls with several teams lately, and many clubs are trying to find out which players GM Barry Trotz is willing to part with and for what price.

As teams begin to circle the Predators, who currently sit last in the NHL with 16 points and a 6-11-4 record, Trotz is believed to be open for business, as TFP’s David Pagnotta reported earlier in the week.

For the last two consecutive games, the Predators have had two scouts in Montreal for the Canadiens’ games on Thursday and Saturday, including their head pro scout.

The Canadiens have been reportedly linked to Predators veterans Steven Stamkos and Ryan O’Reilly, and while unconfirmed, the Habs could have inquired about one or both players.

Stamkos owns a full no-movement clause and has two more years left on his contract and would have to sign off on any trade the Predators attempt to complete, while O’Reilly does not own any no-trade protection and is under contract for one more season.

It is unclear if a move is imminent, as well as whom the Predators may be keeping tabs on or if Nashville’s scouts are purely collecting data for potential moves later in the season.
