The Los Angeles Kings are believed to be evaluating the trade market for a top-six scoring winger and the club has recently started to explore what options may be available to them this season.

Citing league sources, TFP’s David Pagnotta reported on Monday that the Kings are looking to add extra fire power up front, specially within their top-six, and are looking around the NHL for potential fits.

The Kings have just over $3.27 million in current salary cap space, according to PuckPedia.com, and any impact addition may result in at least one player being moved off the roster.

Kings GM Ken Holland is busy both in his attempt to sign star winger Adrian Kempe to a long-term contract extension and it appears with the club’s presumed desire to add up front.

If the Kings part with someone off the roster, left wing Trevor Moore may be a potential candidate. The 30-year-old has just three goals and one assist in his first 12 games of the regular-season, as both he and linemate Phil Danault have struggled to produce secondary scoring.

Moore is in the third year of a five-year, $21 million contract and does no own any no-trade protection.

It is unclear whom the Kings are looking at, but it should be noted that Kings Senior Advisor Marc Bergevin has taken in some recent Philadelphia Flyers games.

Through 13 games this season, the Kings have a 5-4-4 record and sit just outside of the playoff picture.
