The Minnesota Wild are exploring the trade market, once again, on young center Marco Rossi, who is eligible to become a restricted free agent July 1.
Rossi, 23, is in the final year of his three-year, entry-level contract and has been the subject of trade speculation dating back to last off-season.
In June 2024, the Wild began to evaluate trade interest in Rossi and took calls from inquiring teams. Those discussions continued this season leading up to the trade deadline and it appears Wild GM Bill Guerin is willing to take and make calls, again.
It appears a primary reason as to why the Wild have a willingness to explore the possibility of trading Rossi is due to his contract demands.
According to TFP’s David Pagnotta, Rossi is believed to be looking for a deal similar to the seven-year, $49 million contract Matt Boldy inked with the Wild.
Further to Anthony’s reporting here, I’m hearing Rossi’s camp is looking for a similar deal to Matt Boldy. All indications are he’s asking for something in the 7x7 range. https://t.co/RNMAXfPVGC

As reported by Anthony Di Marco of Daily Faceoff, the Wild are not interested in signing Rossi to that large a contract at this time, and neither seem to be the Philadelphia Flyers, who spoke with the Wild about Rossi but declined to engage further.
Several teams are believed to have varying degrees of interest in Rossi, including the Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers.
In 82 games with the Wild this season, Rossi registered 24 goals and 36 assists for 60 points.
