The Seattle Kraken interviewed Toronto Maple Leafs associate coach Lane Lambert this past week and he is believed to be a frontrunner for Seattle’s Head Coach vacancy.

The Kraken have interviewed multiple candidates for the position, including the likes of Mitch Love, David Quinn, Jay Woodcroft and Jeff Blashill, whom the Chicago Blackhawks hired last week as their bench boss.

During Monday’s “32 Thoughts” podcast episode, Elliotte Friedman reported Lambert interviewed for the job in Seattle after Toronto was eliminated from the playoffs.

“I heard Lane Lambert’s interview went well in Seattle,” Friedman said.

While he would not imply that it is a foregone conclusion that Lambert will become Seattle’s next Head Coach, Friedman did suggest he was atop their list.

Lambert joined the Maple Leafs this season after spending previous season-and-a-half as Head Coach of the New York Islanders, where he posted a 61-46-20 record in 127 games.
