ISLES SIGN PALMIERI, BOQVIST TO NEW CONTRACTS

The New York Islanders have signed forward Kyle Palmieri to a two-year, $9.5 million contract extension and defenceman Adam Boqvist to a one-year, $850,000 extension.
As TFP’s David Pagnotta first reported, and on multiple occasions, Palmieri and Boqvist both had agreed in principle to deals with the Islanders under then-GM Lou Lamoriello. Both deals were finalized under new GM Mathieu Darche.
Palmieri, 34, registered 24 goals and 24 assists for 48 points in 82 games with the Islanders last season.
In 900 career NHL Games with the Islanders, New Jersey Devils and Anaheim Ducks, Palmieri has accumulated 270 goals and 257 assists for 527 points.
Boqvist, 24, scored 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 35 NHL games last season. The Islanders claimed him off waivers from the Florida Panthers on Jan. 31, 2025.
In six NHL seasons with the Islanders, Panthers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Chicago Blackhawks, Boqvist has registered 27 goals and 72 assists for 99 points in 244 games.
Boqvist was originally selected eighth-overall by the Blackhawks in the 2018 NHL Draft.
