COUNTRY MUSIC AND HOCKEY, THAT’S WHAT NASHVILLE DOES

Eyes on you, hockey…

The old saying goes, professional athletes want to be rock stars and rock stars want to be professional athletes.

We’ve been to enough hockey games to see plenty of recording artists, often low key, going nuts for their favourite teams or players they’ve become friends with over the years.

At the same time, some of the staff here at TFP have been to enough music festivals and concerts to see pro athletes, including NHL stars, rocking out and letting loose to their favourite artists.

Some times, the two worlds collide away from the ice and stage. Given this crazy pandemic we’re all faced with, as restrictions have loosened, we’re starting to see some of our favourite stars hanging out together.

Kind of like what happened today at country music star Chase Rice’s home in Nashville, where Predators star Ryan Johansen and former Pred and current Edmonton Oilers sniper James Neal popped by for what looks like a little jam session.

Both Johansen and Neal have played guitar, but we’d bet Rice gave them a few extra tips at some point.

Rice has become a big Predators fan and has posted a bunch of stories and posts on Instagram sporting Preds gear.

He just recently released The Album Part II, featuring four new tracks — which you can check out here — on May 15 and country music fans have already been going wild over it.

We’re not sure if The Album Part III will actually feature Johansen and Neal, but solid effort on their part, nonetheless.
