The Anaheim Ducks and New York Rangers are in ongoing trade negotiations involving veteran forward Chris Kreider and a move could be finalized as early as Wednesday.

News broke Tuesday evening that a move as being discussed – first reported by Frank Seravalli – and sources later told TFP that Kreider will need to sign off on a move as the Ducks are currently on his no-trade list.

According to Seravalli, 20-year-old centre Carey Terrance, whom the Ducks drafted in the second-round, 59th overall, in the 2023 NHL Draft, is part of the package that would head back to the Rangers in exchange for Kreider.

As TFP’s David Pagnotta first reported at the end of the regular-season, the Rangers have been looking to move Kreider, dating back to mid-season, in an attempt to free up extra salary cap space.

Kreider, 34, has two years remaining on his seven-year, $45.5 million contract. If/when moved, the Ducks are expected to take on his full contract, which has a $6.5 million AAV tied to it.

As Pagnotta also reported on Monday, the Rangers have also been engaged in trade talks with clubs regarding defenceman K’Andre Miller and centre Mika Zibanejad, who has a full no-movement clause.
