The New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes have been discussing a trade involving restricted free agent defenceman K’Andre Miller and a sign-and-trade is expected.

As reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Miller is expected to sign an eight-year, $60 million contract with the Rangers, upon which he will be traded to the Hurricanes.

It is unclear as to the type of package the Rangers are received, but according to TFP’s David Pagnotta, defenceman Scott Morrow and a first-round draft pick are part of the return.

Pagnotta also reports that Miller’s deal includes a modified no-trade clause, starting in the third year of Miller’s contract.

In 74 games with the Rangers this past season, the 25-year-old registered seven goals and 20 assists for 27 points.

Morrow, 22, is in the final year of his entry-level contract.

He scored one goal and added five assists in 14 games with the Hurricanes in 2024-25.
