The Seattle Kraken have made a few additions to their roster so far this off-season and GM Jason Botterill is reportedly looking to do more.
The Kraken acquired forwards Mason Marchment from the Dallas Stars and Frederick Gaudreau from the Minnesota Wild in separate trades last month, and signed defenceman Ryan Lindgren via free agency to a four-year, $18 million contract on July 1.
As Botterill and the Kraken look to retool for the 2025-26 campaign, they are still believed to be exploring the market and are also open to moving one of their wingers.
During an appearance on “Sekeres and Price” earlier this week, TFP’s David Pagnotta reported the Kraken remain open to moving forward Jared McCann if the right offer presents itself.
“His name started to pop up around trade deadline; he’s still available,” Pagnotta said. “He’s somebody hat we’ve been hearing that Seattle is also open to moving.”
McCann, who ranks No.20 on TFP’s Summer Trade Watch List, has two years remaining on his contract and comes with a $5 million salary cap hit. The 29-year-old also owns a 10-team no-trade list as part of his deal.

Since joining the Kraken in their inaugural season, McCann has scored over 20 goals in all four seasons and has eclipsed 50 goals each season, as well – he has put up back-to-back 60+ point season after registered 40 goals and 70 points in 2022-23.
Several teams, including the Chicago Blackhawks, New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs, are looking to add to their top-six and may pursue McCann as the off-season continues.
