KINGS NOT CONSIDERING COACHING CHANGE

The Los Angeles Kings are focused on improving their offensive game and despite a report suggesting the team is considering a coaching change, that is not the case, according to TFP’s Dennis Bernstein.
During The Discussion Room segment on “The Powerplay” with Steve Kouleas on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio on Friday afternoon, Bernstein reported the Kings are not evaluating their coaching options and have not spoken with Pete DeBoer about potentially replacing Jim Hiller behind the bench.
Kings GM Ken Holland later confirmed to TFP’s David Pagnotta there is “no truth” to speculation that a coaching change is under consideration.
The Kings currently sit third in the Pacific Division with a 12-8-7 record, despite losing their last two games, and are two points behind the Anaheim Ducks for first in the division.
The Kings are, however, believed to be exploring the market for another offensive weapon, as Pagnotta reported on Wednesday.
“They are 28th in the league in goals for per game. They would like to add some extra fire, some extra punch in that lineup,” Pagnotta said.
But as far as a coaching change is concerned, that is not even a consideration, at the moment, for the Kings.
