SHARKS, COUTURE AGREE TO 8-YEAR EXTENSION

As TFP Editor-in-Chief David Pagnotta was the first to report, the San Jose Sharks and centre Logan Couture have agreed to terms on an eight-year, $64 million contract.
Couture, 29, registered 34 goals and 27 assists for 61 points in 78 games with the Sharks this past season.
His new deal, TFP can confirm, includes some no-trade protection.
Drafted ninth-overall in 2007 by the Sharks, Couture has played in 582 career NHL regular-season games, thus far, and has picked up 213 goals and 224 assists for 437 assists.
