RED WINGS RE-SIGN GREEN TO TWO-YEAR DEAL

The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed defenceman Mike Green to a two-year, $10.75 million contract, TFP can confirm.

As first reported by TFP’s David Pagnotta, Green will earn $5.5 million in the first-year of his new deal, and $5.25 million in the second-year.

Green, 32, has spent the last three season with the Wings, and registered eight goals and 25 assists for 33 points in 66 games with the club this past season.

In 787 career NHL regular-season games with the Washington Capitals and Red Wings, Green has accumulated 142 goals and 322 assists for 464 points.

He was originally drafted 29th overall by the Capitals in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
