The Carolina Hurricanes remain engaged in trade discussions with several teams over defenceman Justin Faulk and left wing Jeff Skinner.

Faulk, 26, was involved in trade talks with the Calgary Flames for Dougie Hamilton, but the Flames insisted on Noah Hanifin being part of their trade.

He has two-years left on his contract, which comes with a $4.833 million salary cap hit.

Skinner, 26, has one-year left on his deal at a cap hit of $5.725 million. He also owns a full no-movement clause and can dictate where he ends up, if dealt – though the belief is he’s willing to accept a move to a desired location.

The Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins and San Jose Sharks have been linked to Skinner.

Faulk, meanwhile, is believed to have drawn interest from the Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers and Montreal Canadiens, among other teams.
