SABRES SIGN JOKIHARJU TO NEW CONTRACT

The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Henri Jokiharju to a one-year, $3.1 million contract.

Jokiharju, 25, registered three goals and 17 assists for 20 points in 74 games last season. He led the Sabres with a plus-14 rating and ranked fourth on the team with 106 blocked shots.

In 347 career NHL regular-season games with the Chicago Blackhawks and Sabres, Jokiharju has accumulated 16 goals and 71 assists for 87 points, along with 24 penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted 29th overall by the Blackhawks in the 2017 NHL Draft.
