PANARIN AGREES TO DEAL WITH RANGERS

The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent left wing Artemi Panarin on a seven-year, $81.5 million contract.
The New York Islanders were left behind in their pursuit of Panarin, having offered a higher contract, but the native of Korkino, Russia, opted to join the Rangers.

Panarin, 27, registered 28 goals and a career-high 59 assists for a career-high 87 points in 79 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets this past season.
In 322 career NHL regular-season games with the Chicago Blackhawks and Blue Jackets, Panarin has accumulated 116 goals and 204 assists for 320 points.
