The Philadelphia Flyers have begun contract negotiations with restricted free agent forwards Travis Konecny and Scott Laughton, TFP has learned.

While a deal with either player is not yet imminent, as they started talks today, it’s believed a new contract for both players won’t be overly difficult to piece together.

Konecny, 22, registered 24 goals and 25 assists for 49 points in 82 games with the Flyers this past season, while the 25-year-old Laughton tallied 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points.

The Flyers have just under $15 million in available salary cap space and also need to get RFA defenceman Ivan Provorov locked up to a new deal.
