Vancouver Canucks young star Brock Boeser is in the final-year of his three-year, entry-level contract and is primed to score a hefty long-term deal once he comes to terms on an extension with the club.

Just don’t expected a new contract to be ironed out any time soon.

TFP has learned that while the Canucks and Boeser’s camp have had very loose discussions about it, the two sides are expected to begin formal contract negotiations on a new deal during the off-season.

Boeser, who turns 22 on Feb. 25, could see his next contract hover around the $6 million to $7 million range, per year.

After picking up 29 goals and 26 assists for 55 points in 62 games with the Canucks last season, a year in which he was named MVP of the 2018 NHL All-Star Game and was runner-up for Rookie of the Year, Boeser finds himself on pace for 62 points in 69 games this year.
