VEGAS COULD ADD A TOP WINGER

Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon

The Vegas Golden Knights find themselves with, for the time being, some salary cap flexibility after Jack Eichel was placed on LTIR and captain Mark Stone recovering from a spleen injury.

If Stone is out for the balance of the regular-season, the Golden Knights could utilize his $9.5 million salary cap figure to add to their roster ahead of the March 8 trade deadline.

Knights GM Kelly McCrimmon is already believed to be scouring the trade market in an attempt to add a top-tier winger to the lineup, similar to when Vegas acquired forward Ivan Barbashev ahead of last season’s deadline.

It is unclear, at this point, whom the Golden Knights have expressed interest in, but the team has already been linked to such players as Anaheim’s Adam Henrique, Ottawa’s Vladimir Tarasenko, and Pittsburgh’s Jake Guentzel.

The Golden Knights are on the prowl and looking to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, and if McCrimmon can add to his roster and help his club’s chances, he is prepared to do so.
