Jarmo Kekalainen, GM

Columbus Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen is sitting back and waiting for teams to call him and present offers if they are interested in acquiring either left wing Artemi Panarin or goalie Sergei Bobrovsky.

In an interview with NHL.com Columnist Nick Cotsonika, Kekalainen indicated he does not have a set price tag in mind for either player, but urged the interested parties to “make an offer.”

“I’m still just taking phone calls from teams that are interested,” Kekalainen said.

“It’s more about the outcome of the whole deal – for now, the near future and into the little more distant future. That’s the deciding factor, not where we are in the standings.”

Kekalainen has taken his time with both Panarin and Bobrovsky, and with 12 days until the trade deadline, he’s willing to wait a little more to see if the right offer crosses his desk.

“We’re going to have to look at all our options, and once we have them in front of us, we’ll make a decision,” he said.

With the Florida Panthers believed to be the primary team interested trading for Bobrovsky, several teams are eyeing Panarin including the Nashville Predators, Boston Bruins, Vegas Golden Knights and New York Islanders, among others.

Panarin, who can become an unrestricted free agent July 1 along with Bobrovsky, remains No.1 on TFP’s Top 30 Trade Watch List.
