BLUE JACKETS ACQUIRE DUCHENE FROM SENATORS

The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired centre Matt Duchene and defenceman Julius Bergman from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a package that includes a 2019 first-round draft pick, right wing Vitali Abramov, right wing Jonathan Davidsson and a 2020 conditional first-round draft pick.

The Senators will receive the 2020 first-round pick if Duchene signs an extension with the Blue Jackets.

Duchene, 28, has registered 27 goals and 31 assists for 58 points in 50 games with the Senators this season.

In 704 career NHL regular-season games, to date, with the Colorado Avalanche and Senators, Duchene has accumulated 228 goals and 307 assists for 535 points.

He was originally drafted third-overall by the Avalanche in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Bergman, 23, has registered six assists in 33 games with the Belleville Senators of the AHL this season. He was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the second-round, 46th overall, of the 2014 NHL Draft.

Davidsson, 21, was selected by the Blue Jackets in the sixth-round, 170th overall, of the 2017 NHL Draft.

In 35 games with Djurgardens of the Swedish Hockey League this season, he has tallied 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 points.

Abramov, 20, was selected by Columbus in the third-round, 65th overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft.

In 52 games with the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL, Abramov has collected 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points.
