Mike Green, defenceman

Veteran defenceman Mike Green has provided the Detroit Red Wings with a list of teams he would accept a move to, according to multiple reports.

Craig Custance of The Athletic reported via Twitter the Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning are two teams on Green’s wish list.

Green, who is still believed to be mending from an injury, is expected to be dealt by today’s 3pm ET trade deadline. Several teams have expressed interest, but some clubs have balked at the asking price, which includes a first-round draft pick.

The 32-year-old comes with a $6 million salary cap hit, though the Red Wings have made it known they are willing to eat a portion of his salary to get a deal done, and that will affect the return the Wings get.

In 56 games with the Red Wings this season, Green has registered six goals and 23 assists for 29 points.

Green ranks #3 on TFP's Top 30 Available Players List.
