CAPITALS ACQUIRE JERABEK FROM CANADIENS

The Washington Capitals have acquired defenceman Jakub Jerabek from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a 2019 fifth round draft pick.

Jerabek, 26, recorded one goal and three assists for four points in 25 games with the Canadiens this season, his first in the NHL. He was signed by the Habs as a free agent on May 1, 2017.

Prior to joining the Canadiens, the Pilsen, Czech Republic, native recorded 16 goals and 83 assists for 99 points in 308 games with Plzen HC in the Czech League. 

Additionally, Jerabek recorded five goals and 29 assists for 34 points in 59 games with Podolsk Vityaz in the KHL.
