COYOTES WON’T SHOP FOR GOALIE

With goaltender Antti Raanta out for what’s expected to be the rest of the regular-season with a lower-body injury, the Arizona Coyotes are not expected to pursue outside help between the pipes.

Coyotes GM John Chayka told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun via text message this week “we’re going to go with our internal options,” ending quick speculation the team could bring another goalie into the organization.

Chayka is believed to have explored some alternative options, but the price tags appeared to be too high for his liking, resulting in the Coyotes sticking with what they’ve currently got in net.

One goalie the Coyotes inquired about, according to one league source, was Edmonton Oilers netminder Cam Talbot, who is in the final-year of his contract.

For now, and likely the rest of the season, the Coyotes will roll with goalies Adin Hill, Darcy Kuemper and Calvin Pickard, whom they recently plucked off waivers.
