The Buffalo Sabres have acquired forward Scott Wilson from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a 2019 fifth-round draft pick.

Wilson, 25, went without a point in 20 games with the Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins this season, collecting a minus-three rating.

He was traded to Detroit on Oct. 21 with a 2018 third-round draft pick from Pittsburgh for center Riley Sheahan and a 2018 fifth-round pick.

In 123 career NHL regular-season games with the Penguins and Red Wings, Wilson has registered 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points, along with 44 penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted by the Penguins in the seventh-round (209th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
