Draft Order released – Quebec to pick No.1 overall

And with the first overall pick in the WHA Free Agents Draft, Quebec selects...
That's what you can expect to hear this Saturday, as the World Hockey Association announced today the draft order for the first day of its two-day draft weekend.
Teams will select NHL and AHL Free Agents on Saturday, July 17 at the new Fallsview Casino Niagara.
Quebec will select first overall, followed by the Halifax IceBreakers, Detroit Gladiators, Hamilton, Toronto and Dallas.
Each franchise will draft 30 players on Saturday. Teams have already identified a player with exempt status in the draft. [Click here for that story.]
On Sunday, July 18, teams will draft 30 Entry Level Players.
Those eligible for the Entry Level Draft include players undrafted in the past 3 years or drafted but unsigned. Sixteen-year-old players that turn17 prior to the start of the WHA season will also be eligible.
The draft order for the Entry Level Draft will be announced on Saturday, July 17.
Meanwhile, the WHA Founders have ceased negotiations to purchase or establish a franchise in Orlando, Florida.
