Jim Vandermeer |
 |
2009 3rd round pick |
(Jan.
22) Flames add some depth to their blueline, Flyers
make some room for Jaroslav Modry or someone else they're
looking to bring in. Everybody wins.

Cory Stillman

Patrick Eaves
Joe Corvo |
(Feb. 11)
The Ottawa Senators have been trying to get rid of Corvo for
most of the season, and they finally found a dance partner in
Carolina. However, in order to get the deal done, the Sens
needed to add Eaves to the mix, someone they were reluctant to
deal in the past. The Sens are going for the Cup and they pick
up two guys who have been there before. However, both are UFAs
at the end of the season and the Hurricanes obtain a
puck-moving d-man (something they needed) and a good young
winger. Solid move for both squads, but give the edge to the
'Canes.
WINNER: CAROLINA |

Dick Tarnstrom |
 |
Curtis Glencross |
(Feb. 01)
The Edmonton Oilers were trying to get rid of Tarnstrom for a
good part of the season and they appear to have found a
suitor. In return, they pick up a young forward with solid
potential.
WINNER: EDMONTON |

Jody Shelley |
 |
2009 6th round pick |
(Jan. 29)
The San Jose Sharks were trying to acquire a gritty and
physical forward for the past month and they finally got their
hands on what they were looking for in Shelley.

2009 conditional pick |
 |
Craig Adams |
(Jan. 17)
Chicago was looking to acquire a depth forward to help
solidify their third and fourth lines. Adams should come in
and give the Blackhawks exactly what they're looking for at a
low cost.
WINNER: CHICAGO |

Shane Hnidy
2008 6th round pick |
 |
Brandon Bochenski |
(Jan. 02)
The Bruins were trying to get a hold of Hnidy for several
weeks prior to the trade and finally got their hands on him.
The Ducks, in turn, give up little and take a chance on
Bochenski, who probably needed a change of scenery.
