TRADE BOARD
TOP 30
A
VAILABLE PLAYERS
As of July 2, 2017 :: 6:01pm ET

The trade deadline isn't the only wild trading season in the NHL anymore. The NHL Draft offers teams another opportunity to complete significant roster moves and trades. Add in this season's expansion draft and June could be an extremely active month.

We've put together the top 30 players being talked about within the trade market -- we've excluded Chicago's Marcus Kruger, as the Blackhawks have already reportedly agreed to move him to Vegas. This page will be updated regularly, and some players may climb or fall off the list, while others may be added. Teams reportedly showing interest, through media reports and league sources, will also be added and adjusted as more information becomes available.

No. Player Player Info. Potential Suitors
1
Matt Duchene, C/LW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $6,000,000  Age:  26
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

Everyone is expecting the Avs to move Duchene this June, and we're likely to see a deal take place around the NHL Draft.

2
Evander Kane, LW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $5,250,000  Age:  25
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

It sounds like the Sabres' new management regime doesn't view Kane as a long-term asset and are exploring the market on him.

3
Jonathan Drouin, LW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  RFA  Age:  22
Status:   Traded to Montreal

Tampa is exploring all of its options, and that includes entertaining calls for Drouin. The Bolts want a top-pair defenseman for him.

4
Jordan Eberle, RW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $6,000,000  Age:  27
Status:   Traded to NY Islanders

Like Duchene, everyone believes Eberle will be dealt this month, as well. Could this finally be the summer it happens?

5
Tyson Barrie, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $5,500,000 Age:  25
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

Even though Duchene and Landeskog could move, if the right offer presented itself, the Avs would be willing to trade Barrie.

6
Niklas Hjalmarsson, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,100,000  Age:  30
Status:   Traded to Arizona

Hjalmarsson's name making the rounds across the NHL, but it's unclear if they're actively looking to move him at this stage.

7
Marcus Kruger, C
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $3,083,333  Age:  27
Status:   Traded to Vegas

All signs point to Chicago still trading Kruger at some point, but the destination remains murky. Given the Hawks cap situation, he's likely dealt.

8
Tyler Johnson, C
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  RFA  Age:  26
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

Johnson isn't actively being discussed any more, but the Bolts could still look to move him if they can find a top-pair defenseman.

9
Alexei Emelin
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,100,000  Age:  31
Status:   Traded to Nashville

The Knights are expected to move Emelin after taking him in the expansion draft. They'll likely wait until the UFA d-men are signed before pulling the trigger.

10
Sami Vatanen, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,875,000  Age:  26
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

With the expansion draft no longer an issue, the Ducks aren't pressed to make a move, but their need for scoring help keeps Vatanen available.

11
Marc Methot, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,900,000  Age:  32
Status:   Traded to Dallas

The Golden Knights are looking to move Methot, instead of holding on to him, and there's a slight (key word) chance he goes back to Ottawa.

12
Alex Galchenyuk, LW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  RFA  Age:  23
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

There are no guarantees the Habs move Galchenyuk, but GM Marc Bergevin is listening to offers. Montreal's in active contract talks with him, too.

13
Derek Stepan, C
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $6,500,000  Age:  26
Status:   Traded to Arizona

Stepan's big cap hit remains an item for New York, and there are teams still trying to acquire him. We could see something on Draft Day.

14
Ryan Murray, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $2,825,000  Age:  23
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

The depth the Blue Jackets have on the blueline allows them to dangle Murray as trade bait. If Columbus can move him for a top center, they will.

15
Marc-Andre Fleury, G
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $5,750,000  Age:  32
Status:   Selected by Vegas

With back-to-back Cups, Penguins management has to quickly shift its focus and figure out a new home for Fleury, who has a 12 team no-trade list.

16
Gabriel Landeskog, LW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $5,571,429  Age:  24
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

The Avs still don't have to trade Landeskog, but if the right offer comes along, they'll seriously consider it. Could he AND Duchene get dealt? We'll see.

17
Ilya Kovalchuk, LW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  N/A  Age:  34
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

The Devils are more than willing to trade Kovalchuk, and they have options. He can't sign/trade until July 1, and that's likely when things pick up.

18
Chris Tanev, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,450,000  Age:  27
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

The Canucks are open to moving Tanev, but the price has to be right. Vancouver GM Jim Benning is willing to explore options.

19
Travis Hamonic, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $3,857,142 Age:  26
Status:   Traded to Calgary

The Isles are looking hard for a top-line winger to play alongside John Tavares and could use Hamonic as part of a package for a top tier scorer.

20
Marco Scandella, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,000,000  Age:  27
Status:   Traded to Buffalo

Minnesota's been listening to offers on Scandella leading up to the expansion draft, but with that now over, let's see if other team's up their ante.

21
Luca Sbisa, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $3,600,000  Age:  27
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

With a surplus of defenseman in Vegas, Sbisa's expected to be shipped out once the free agent market settles.

22
Alex Killorn, LW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  RFA  Age:  27
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

If the Bolts move one of Johnson or Palat, there is still a chance they move out Killorn, thanks to the salary cap.

23
Mike Smith, G
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $5,666,667  Age:  35
Status:   Traded to Calgary

Plenty of teams are looking to upgrade their game between the pipes and Smith is a target for some clubs.

24
Alec Martinez, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,000,000  Age:  29
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

If the right deal pops up and the Kings can move Martinez instead of Muzzin in order to acquire a top-line scoring winger, LA will take a hard look.

25
James van Riemsdyk, LW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,250,000  Age:  28
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

It's going to take a very significant offer for the Leafs to part with JVR, but it's not out of the realm of possibility for them to make a move -- the right move for them.

26
Nathan Beaulieu, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  RFA  Age:  24
Status:   Traded to Buffalo

Beaulieu could be packaged for some help up front prior to the expansion draft if the Canadiens can find the right trading partner.

27
Ondrej Palat, LW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  RFA  Age:  26
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

As we've outlined above, Palat could be on the move, a casualty of the salary cap, so to speak. But nothing is set in stone.

28
Robin Lehner, G
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  RFA  Age:  35
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

Buffalo is exploring its goaltending options and if they get their hands on another No.1, they'll look to move Lehner.

-
29
Marian Gaborik, RW/LW
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,875,000  Age:  35
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

The Kings would love to find a new home for Gaborik, but his large contract makes him a very difficult player to move. LA may have to get creative.

30
Petr Mrazek, G
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,000,000  Age:  25
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

One of Detroit's goalies could be move for the right price, and considering Howard was protected in the expansion draft, Mrazek could be the odd man out.

OFF THE BOARD

5
Jonas Brodin, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,200,000  Age:  23
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

With Scandella traded, the Wild isn't likely to move Brodin, at this stage. It's entirely possible they deal him for a top-line scorer, but that hasn't presented itself yet.

21
Jake Muzzin, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $4,000,000  Age:  28
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

Muzzin's name is circling around the NHL, but the Kings aren't giving him away by any chance -- they want a top-line winger with term on his deal.

23
Matt Dumba, D
2017-18 Salary Cap Hit:  $2,550,000  Age:  22
Status:  Available, Not Yet Traded

Like Brodin, Dumba's likely sticking around because of the Scandella trade. But you never know.
