Official Rules, Terms and Conditions

PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF
WINNING. Learn. Skate. Play With Team BioSteel
Sports Contest (the "Contest") is sponsored by The
Fourth Period Media 4-2880 Queen Street East,
Suite 242, Brampton, Ontario, Canada L6S 6H4 and
BioSteel Sports Supplements (the “Sponsor”). The
Contest is governed by these official rules, terms
and conditions (the “Official Rules”). By
participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees
to these official rules, including all eligibility
requirements, and understands that the results of
the Contest are final in all respects. The Contest
is subject to all federal, state, provincial and
local laws and regulations and is void where
prohibited by law. ODDS OF WINNING DEPEND ON THE
NUMBER OF ELIGIBLE ENTRIES RECEIVED.
1. ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open only to legal
residents of Canada, who are 18 years of age or
older at the time of entry. Contest is not open to
residents of Quebec. Entrants must have and
maintain the same valid email address at the time
of entry through completion of the Contest
(including the prize awarding and redemption
period), and must provide that email address in
the online entry form. Entrant must be legal
parent of child aged 7-17, or 18 years of age or
older. Officers, directors,
and employees of Sponsor and its parents,
subsidiaries and affiliates, (collectively,
“Contest Entities”) as well as their immediate
family members and persons living in the same
household as such individuals, are not eligible to
enter or win. By submitting an entry, you hereby
agree to be bound by these Official Rules.
2. CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest starts July 16,
2010 at 12:01 am ET and ends August 7, 2010 at
11:59 pm ET (the “Contest Period”).
3. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER
OR WIN, and no entry fee, payment or
proof-of-purchase is necessary to participate in
the Contest. To enter the Contest on-line, visit
the website www.thefourthperiod.com/teambiosteelsports
and follow the instructions provided for entry.
You must complete and submit the entry form as
instructed to be eligible. Such form is referred
to herein as the “Contest Entry”. The name of the
person submitting the Contest Entry must be the
authorized account holder of such email address,
otherwise, entry may be deemed void. In the event
of a dispute over the identity of a potential
winner, the entry will be declared made by the
authorized account holder of the email address
submitted at the time of entry, and potential
winner may be required to provide identification
sufficient to show that he/she is the authorized
account holder of such email address. It is the
sole responsibility of the entrant to notify the
Sponsor in writing if the entrant changes his or
her e-mail or postal address during the Contest
Period.
Proof of submission of Contest Entry does not
constitute proof of receipt of Contest Entry. All
Contest Entries become the property of Sponsor and
will not be returned to the entrants. Each Contest
Entry must be manually key stroked and manually
entered by the individual entrant; automated
and/or repetitive electronic submission of entries
(including but not limited to entries made using
any script, macro, bot or sweepstakes service)
will be disqualified and transmissions from these
or related email or IP addresses may be blocked.
ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR
INTERFERE WITH THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE
CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL
LAWS, AND FUTURE SHOP RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK
DAMAGES AND/OR OTHER RELIEF FROM ALL RESPONSIBLE
PERSONS TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
4. HOW TO SUBMIT CONTENT: Official rules, terms
and conditions are available at

or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope
to: TFP Media Inc., ATTN: LEARN.SKATE.PLAY, 4-2880
Queen Street East, Suite 242, Brampton, Ontario,
Canada L6S 6H4. Contest Entries must be made by
submitting a 350 word essay on why contest entrant
should play with Team BioSteel Sports. Company is
not responsible for Contest Entries that for any
reason are lost, late, or misdirected, for
malfunctions of electronic equipment, computer
hardware, or software, or for downloading or data
entering problems or other technical problems or
human error related to entries or the Contest. By
submitting a Contest Entry, you hereby warrant and
represent that your Contest Entry: (i) is your
original work; (ii) does not infringe third-party
rights; and (iii) conforms to all requirements as
set forth in these Official Rules.
5. SELECTION CRITERIA & WINNER SELECTION: Each
submission will be evaluated and judged by a panel
of judges made up of representatives from the
Sponsors. A winner will be selected based on why
they should play with Team BioSteel Sports from
among all eligible Entries received.
Judges may reject submissions for any reason based
on non-compliance with these Official Rules,
including without limitation non-compliance with
the content requirements set out in section 4.
Sponsor reserves the right to modify the Contest
and these Terms and Conditions as determined by
Sponsors in its sole discretion. The potential
winner will be notified within one (1) business
days of the prize judging by telephone or e-mail,
according to the contact information provided by
that entrant. If a potential winner cannot be
contacted or prize notification is returned as
undeliverable, that potential winner may be
disqualified and an alternate winner selected.
Each potential winner will be required to return
an Affidavit of Eligibility, Publicity Release and
Prize Acceptance Forms, as requested by Sponsors.
All forms must be fully completed and returned
within three (3) days following receipt of the
forms from Sponsor, or the potential winner may be
disqualified and an alternative winner selected at
the Sponsor’s sole discretion. If a potential
Contest prize winner is an eligible minor in
his/her jurisdiction of residence, the applicable
Contest prize may be awarded to his or her parent
or legal guardian, who will be required to sign
and return all Contest prize acceptance documents
and assume all responsibilities of the Contest
prize winner. All prizes may not be awarded if an
insufficient number of eligible entries are
received by the applicable judging date. Limit of
one (1) grand prize per person.
6. PRIZES: One (1) grand prize package will be
awarded to one (1) grand prize winner with a total
maximum approximate retail value of $10,000 CDN.
ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE: Winner will receive:
Flight to and from Toronto from location of
residence. Accommodation in Toronto from August
15-17. A day at Camp BioSteel which includes
training on ice from BioSteel Sports Coaches and
off-ice training from BioSteel Sports Trainers.
Team photo with BioSteel Sports. Meet and Greet
with Mike Cammalleri.
Except for the prize values, the prize winner will
not receive any additional monetary compensation
or acknowledgement for participation in the
Contest, any advertisement or other material.
Except as specifically provided herein, the prize
winner is solely responsible for all expenses and
fees, including, without limitation, taxes,
related to any prize or this Contest. Reporting
and payment of all applicable taxes resulting from
acceptance or use of any prize are the sole
responsibility of the winner.
7. ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS: All prizes are
non-transferable except by Sponsor. The prizes
cannot be used in conjunction with any other
contest or offer. No substitution or cash
equivalent of a prize is permitted; however,
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize
with another of equal or greater value. The winner
is not entitled to the difference between the
approximate retail value and the actual value of
any prize. The Contest Entities are not
responsible for any typographical or other errors
in the offer or administration of the Contest,
including, but not limited to, errors in the
printing or posting of the offer or Official
Rules, the selection and announcement of any
winner, or the distribution of any prize. Any
attempt to damage the content or operation of the
Contest is unlawful and subject to legal action by
Sponsor or its agents. Sponsor reserves the right
to terminate, withdraw or amend the Contest or
disqualify any entry for any reason and without
notice including, without limitation, if Sponsor
suspects tampering has occurred, voiding the
entries at issue or terminating the Contest and
selecting a winner from among that portion of the
Contest that has not been compromised, if any.
Contest Entities will not replace any lost or
stolen prize items. The Contest Entities and any
telephone network or service providers are not
responsible for incorrect or inaccurate
transcription of entry information, or for any
human error, technical malfunction, lost or
delayed data transmission, omission, interruption,
deletion, line failure or malfunction of any
telephone network, computer equipment or software,
the inability to access any web site or online
service or any other error, human or otherwise.
8. INDEMNIFICATION AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: BY
ENTERING THE CONTEST, EACH ENTRANT AGREES TO
INDEMNIFY, RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE CONTEST
ENTITIES AND ALL THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS,
DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES,
CONSULTANTS, SUPPLIERS AND AGENTS FROM ANY
LIABILITY, DAMAGES, LOSSES OR INJURY RESULTING IN
WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM
ENTRANT’S PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST (INCLUDING
WITHOUT LIMITATION ENTRANT’S BREACH OF ANY
REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES PROVIDED HEREIN),
SPONSOR’S USE OR PUBLICATION OF ENTRANT’S CONTEST
ENTRY, AND THE ENTRANT’S ACCEPTANCE OF ANY PRIZE
THAT MAY BE WON. THE CONTEST ENTITIES DO NOT MAKE
ANY WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT
TO THE CONTEST, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY
REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES AS TO THE CONDITION,
FITNESS OR MERCHANTABILITY OF ANY OF THE PRIZES.
EACH ENTRANT AGREES TO EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENT
CONTAINING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THESE
OFFICIAL RULES.
THE CONTEST ENTITIES AND ALL THEIR RESPECTIVE
OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES
AND AGENTS DISCLAIM ANY LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE TO
ANY COMPUTER SYSTEM RESULTING FROM ACCESS TO OR
THE DOWNLOAD OF INFORMATION OR MATERIALS CONNECTED
WITH THE CONTEST.
9. PUBLICITY: By submitting an entry, each entrant
and winner hereby grants Sponsors and those acting
under its authority permission to use, simulate,
and impersonate such entrant’s and/or winner's
name, likeness, voice, appearance, performance,
biographical information, and comments for
advertising and publicity purposes without payment
of additional consideration, except where
prohibited by law. The rights granted herein
include the right to depict or portray you in such
manner as Sponsor may determine in its discretion,
to edit any of your statements or actions, and to
juxtapose you and your likeness, appearance,
performance, and activities with any other
material Sponsor may select. Such rights are
worldwide without limitation in number of
occurrences, type of media, whether now existing
or hereafter created, or in any other way, for a
period of without limitation.
10. OWNERSHIP: By submitting a Contest Entry and
any other material, entrant agrees to transfer,
and does hereby transfer, any all rights, title,
and interests in and to the Contest Entry,
including but not limited to any and all
copyrights, trademark rights, and any and all
other rights that may exist, throughout the world,
to Sponsor. Entrant agrees that Sponsor, as the
exclusive owner of all rights in to the Contest
Entry, will have the worldwide, perpetual right to
copy, display, reproduce, exhibit, edit, modify,
assign, license, register for copyrights and
trademarks, distribute, sell, and otherwise use
and exploit the Contest Entry and all elements
and/or derivative works thereof, in whole or in
part, alone or with other materials, in any media
now known or hereafter created or devised, for any
reason whatsoever. Entrant further covenants not
to assert or sue Sponsor under such rights or on
the basis of any other claim of any proprietary
right or interest in the Contest Entry.
11. GOVERNING LAW: All issues and questions
concerning the construction, validity,
interpretation and enforceability of these
Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of
entrants and the Contest Entities in connection
with the Contest, shall be governed by, and
construed in accordance with, all issues and
questions concerning the construction, validity,
interpretation and enforceability of these rules,
or the rights of obligations of participant and
Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be
governed by, and construed under the substantive
laws of their province of residence.
12. RESIDENTS OF THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC
For residents of the Province of Quebec, Sponsors
will hold a contest solely for them in the future,
a date that has not been determined by the
Sponsors.
13. WHO WON:
To find out the names of the winners, please send
a self-addressed stamped envelope on or before
October 1, 2010 to TFP Media INC., ATTN:
