MINNESOTA
WILD (3)
vs.
COLORADO AVALANCHE (6)
| The
Minnesota Wild won five of the eight meetings against
the Colorado Avalanche this season, helping them remain
atop the Northwest Division and claim third-place in the
Conference.
Minnesota's defensive style could shut down Colorado's
offensive game, but the Wild will still need Marian
Gaborik and Pavol Demitra to have a huge series if they
want to get into the second-round of the playoffs.
Led by Joe Sakic, Adam
Foote and Peter Forsberg, the veteran Avs are giving it
one last kick at the can, and could get the rest of the
team going with their experience in pressure-cooker
games.
Jose Theodore is finally
looking like a true No.1 goalie again, and that could
spell trouble for the Wild if their offensive weapons
fail to produce.
This is going to be a
very tight series, which could go the distance. |
