Jets looking to deal forward?

The Winnipeg Jets' surplus of forwards may result in the team moving at least one of them at some point this season, reports the Ottawa Sun.

According to the Sun's Bruce Garrioch, Jets GM Kevin Chevaldyoff is willing to move one of his forwards and is taking calls.

The Jets have plenty of salary cap space to work with if they wanted to make a big splash, though it doesn't appear as if Cheveldayoff is looking to pull the trigger on a blockbuster trade.

Coming off a 7-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday, the Jets sit second in the Central Division with a 5-3-2 record.

Winnipeg has stabilized its attack and its goaltending position, as Connor Hellebuyck appears to have taken the reigns from off-season addition Steve Mason.

With Hellebuyck on top of his game and the team's offensive depth clicking, for the most part, it's unclear what type of move the Jets are looking to maneuver, though their depth up front does give them flexibility down the road.
