Ellerby inks one-year contract

The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have agreed to terms with defenceman Keaton Ellerby on a one-year, two way contract worth $700,000.

Ellerby, 25, played in 51 games with the Winnipeg Jets last season recording six points (2G, 4A) and two penalty minutes.

The Strathmore, AB native was acquired by the Jets early last season claimed off of waivers from the Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 2, 2013.

In his NHL career, Ellerby has played in 211 games for Florida, Los Angeles, and Winnipeg collecting four goals and 22 assists for 26 points, with 88 penalty minutes.

Ellerby was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round, 10th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
