Jets, Bogosian continue contract talks

The Winnipeg Jets remain in constant conversation with star defenseman Zach Bogosian, who is a restricted free agent and in need of a new contract.

Bogosian, 22, wrapped up a two-year, $5 million contract.

The native of Massena, New York, is believed to be looking for a long-term contract worth around $5 million per season.

Several teams are interested in Bogosian, who might get tempted to sign an offer sheet with another club, upon which the Jets will have the opportunity to match the deal or take compensation in the form of draft picks.

The Jets could also trade Bogosian, if the right deal comes across GM Kevin Cheveldayoff's table.

In 33 games with the Jets this past season, Bogosian registered five goals and nine assists for 14 points, with 29 penalty minutes.
