Jets star Kane signs with Minsk
TheFourthPeriod.com

Winnipeg Jets left wing Evander Kane has signed with Dinamo Minsk of the KHL and will play there during the NHL lockout.

In 74 games with the Jets last season, Kane registered 30 goals and 27 assists for 57 points.

Kane, the first North American-born player to sign in the KHL during the NHL lockout, is waiting for his visa and is expected to arrive in Minsk on Oct. 1, then play his first game on Oct. 2. He joins Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne, who also signed with Minsk.

The 21-year-old Vancouver native was drafted fourth-overall by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Just hours before the NHL announces its lockout, signed a new six-year, $31.5 million deal with the Jets.
