Kane remains priority for Jets
TheFourthPeriod.com

Having locked up center Olli Jokinen earlier in the week, the Jets would like to get left wing Evander Kane signed to a new deal, as well, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.

However, until Zach Parise comes off the market, talks between the Jets and Kane's agents are temporarily on hold.

Parise and Kane share the same representatives over at Newport Sports, and while talks haven't been overly serious, the Jets aren't worried and understand the process.

In addition to signing Kane, the Jets are in the market for a backup goaltender, though the Free Press suggests the team has plenty of cap space to continue to add new pieces to the puzzle.

The Jets could target the likes of Alex Auld, Ty Conklin and Dan Ellis to back up starter Ondrej Pavelec next season.

Curtis Sanford could have been a target, but he's signed to play in the KHL next season, while Andrew Raycroft has signed a deal to play in Italy.
