Laich officially joins Kloten
TheFourthPeriod.com

Washington Capitals center Brooks Laich has signed with the Kloten Flyers of the Swiss National A League and will play there during the NHL lockout.

Laich becomes the third member of the Capitals to sign overseas during the lockout, joining captain Alex Ovechkin (KHL) and goalie Michal Neuvirth (Czech Extraliga).

The 29-year-old registered 16 goals and 25 assists for 41 points, with 34 penalty minutes, in 82 games with the Capitals last season.

Laich is one of several NHLers to sign in Switzerland during the lockout, joining the likes of Logan Couture, Joe Thornton, Rick Nash, Tyler Seguin and John Tavares.
