Morrisonn awarded 1-year deal TheFourthPeriod.com
Washington Capitals defenseman Shaone Morrisonn has been awarded a one-year, $1.975 million contract through arbitration.
Morrisonn, 25, played his third full season with the Capitals in 2007-08, recording one goal, nine assists and 63 penalty minutes in 76 games.
The Vancouver, BC, native was acquired from Boston in 2004 and has played 278 career NHL games, 237 of them for the Capitals. He has recorded six goals, 39 assists and 278 penalty minutes throughout his career.
