Capitals extend Boudreau's contract

TheFourthPeriod.com

Bruce Boudreau will remain behind the Washington Capitals' bench beyond this season, as the team has extended his contract.

While terms of the team were not disclosed, Capitals GM George McPhee confirmed that Boudreau will remain the club's head coach.

"He's our coach. He's under contract .. for a long time," McPhee told TSN.

Boudreau joined the club mid-season after replacing Glen Hanlon in November.

The Capitals went 37-17-7 under Boudreau and made the playoffs for the first time since 2003.
