Canucks agree to deal with Vey

The Vancouver Canucks havesigned restricted free agent forward Linden Vey to a one-year contract.

Vey, 22, appeared in 18 regular season games for the Los Angeles Kings last season (his first in the NHL), recording five assists.

The Wakaw, Saskatchewan, native played in 43 regular season games for the Manchester Monarchs in the 2013-14 season, recording 14 goals and 34 assists for 48 points, along with 20 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating.

Vey was originally selected by Los Angeles in the fourth round, 96th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
