According to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, Malhotra is not prepared to retire at this time.
In 864 career NHL regular-season games with the New York Rangers, Dallas Stars, Columbus Blue Jackets, San Jose Sharks and Canucks, Malhotra has accumulated 108 goals and 170 assists for 278 points.
He was originally drafted seventh-overall by the Rangers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
