The Vancouver Canucks have signed unrestricted free agent forward Raffi Torres to a one-year, $1 million contract.
Torres, 28, split the 2009-10 season with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Buffalo Sabres. He registered 19 goals and 17 assists in 74 games.
The Toronto-born left winger has registered 182 points (98-84-182) and 312 penalty minutes in 432 games played with the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Buffalo Sabres.
He was originally drafted fifth overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders.
